ABOUT US
Just eight miles west of Ocean City, Maryland on Route 50, Stephen Decatur High School is the largest of Worcester County's three high schools, with an enrollment of nearly 1400 students. Nestled between a bustling resort city and rural outer areas including wetlands and the pristine beaches of Assateague Island, environmental issues are near and dear to our hearts.
We strive to incorporate environmental education in every facet of our curricular and extra-curricular programs and empower our students to make everyday decisions with consideration to the impact of actions on the environment.
OUR MISSION
The mission of Stephen Decatur High School, a diverse and growing community, is to provide a rigorous, sequential, and balanced curriculum for all students to become responsible life-long learners. We seek to accomplish this through instructional excellence in partnership with family and community in a safe, caring and well-maintained environment.
As we prepare our students, we seek to recognize the uniqueness of each student's role as a productive
